Dr. Ricardo Ribeiro Ferreira from the University of Edinburgh joins the JRP podcast to talk about his intricate research on the intertwining of journalism and democracy. Exploring his publication that came out of the work he presented at the ‘Between Ideals and Practices’ conference, Ferreira digs deeper into the “de-democratization” of Brazil from 2016 to 2020,  the role of journalism during this challenging time, and three common practices in newsrooms that impacted democracy in the South American Nation.
